In life, we are going to face many obstacles, the thing that matter most is how we respond to the obstacles we face in life. These 5 ways to have hope, listed below, will help you to overcome whatever you face in life.
1. Be aware of what you are thinking about
The thoughts we have are powerful! If you want to have a good life you must think hope-filled thoughts. While on the hand, if you think negative thoughts you will not have hope but despair. Your thoughts create your beliefs. Whenever you focus on negative thoughts it creates limiting beliefs which leave you blocked and not able to achieve your goals and dreams. It is better to think positively and not negatively. When you think positively you will look for solutions.
2. Be aware of what you are saying
Words have power, too! You can’t talk negatively and expect to have a good life. The words you speak have an affect on your life. The bible in Proverbs 18:21 states Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose. What do you talk about? It is important that you not go around talking about how bad it is. Yes, there are lots of negative things that happen in the world. The main thing you can do if you want to see things change for the better is pray. You must make sure the words you speak are in alignment with your goals. 3. Be aware who you are listening to
It matters who you listen to. Listening to the wrong people can send your life in the wrong direction. If they always talk about defeat and how bad life is- it will eventually affect the way you think. You should surround yourself with positive people. The people who want to see you succeed and will help you get to the next level. There are some people who don’t want to see you succeed and will fill your mind with negativity if you allow them.
4. Don’t forget about your past successes
Whenever you go through a period of hopelessness, remember the times that you were able to have hope and overcome obstacles in the past. It is good to journal your successes so that you can have a record of your achievements for the times that you need it most.
5. Finally, take time for prayer, meditation and reflection
It’s uplifting when you take time to pray, meditate, and make time for reflection. It’s important to do this regularly- every day if possible. You can pray however long you feel led to. Next, take time to meditate and then use the time of reflection for journaling. This is a great time to remember obstacles you have overcome while working through the obstacles you currently face.
