What do you need to overcome?
We all have something we need to overcome- truth be told. Your problem may not be the same as your neighbor’s problem, but you still have a problem, nonetheless.
The first step overcoming any problem is to admit you have one. It’s hard for some people to admit they have a problem.
I challenge you to start working on whatever it is you need to overcome. You can start by doing baby steps. Set goals for whatever is that you need to change. If you need to ask for help, don’t be afraid to.
It takes courage to admit you have a problem and take the necessary steps to overcome them. While, on the other hand, it takes little to no effort to stay the same.
I like to say that slow progress is better than no progress. It’s better to take action and start going in the right direction than to do nothing and remain the same.
A lesson from athletes
When you think of successful athletes- do you think of all the hours they spend training and conditioning? I have read stories about some of the most successful athletics and have learned that many of them train for several hours a day.
They realize that it takes time and it is a process to get from where they are to where they want to be. It does not happen overnight—and it’s not something they train themselves for every now and then. They train on a consistent basis no matter how they feel.
Many people are not willing to move past their comfort zone. If you want to overcome obstacles in life you need to move past what is comfortable and familiar to you. You will be surprised, but most people live within their comfort zone.
When people live in the comfort zone they do what everybody else does- the routine, mundane, and ordinary things of life.
If you want to fulfill your purpose in life you have to move past comfort and don’t let your feelings stop you from doing whatever it is that you should be doing.
