Several weeks ago, a scripture came to my mind during my prayer time. It came from 2 Chronicles 7:14 in the bible, and it states “then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”
I had a lot on my mind that day, especially since there were and are many evil things going on in the world that I don’t understand.
What I know for sure is that prayer changes things. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in trying to figure things out ourselves, or what other people are saying, that we forget that we all need to persevere in prayer. What I know for sure is that prayer changes things. If you find it hard to pray, you need to humble yourself and pray to God who knows all and sees all. I believe as we continue to persevere in prayer that everything is going to be alright…
Don’t get distracted
There are so many distractions out there. We can get distracted by the T.V., social media, people who are not saying anything, yet speaking a lot, etc.
We have 24 hours in the day, and getting distracted by the wrong thing or people can take up your time that can be used for prayer and seeking the face of the Lord.
When I allowed myself to get distracted I found myself focusing on the wrong things. This is part of the reason why many people are divided. It’s what I like to call majoring on the minors. This is an original quote I came up with years ago. It states, “when we major on the minors we miss the big picture.”
Yes, distractions can make you miss the big picture. If we are going to see real change in our world, we have to get to the root of the issues, stop pointing fingers, and pray to the Lord for ourselves, families, communities and the world.
Focus on having regular prayer time. Don’t allow your mind to be influenced by all the hate that is going on around the world.
Don’t focus on how bad it is and/or spread hateful messages that divide and cause arguments. It’s a waste of time to knowingly cause arguments amongst people.
Problem or Solution
Will you be part of the problem or the solution? Will you take time for prayer or just go along with popular opinion?
If we will persevere in prayer, God will hear us and heal our land. However, we can’t spread hate and evil and expect for this to happen.
